My 1828 Webster’s Dictionary defines encouragement as: to give or increase confidence of success: To inspire with spirit of strength of mind.

When you encourage others, you incite people to action and hope. Jesus has given each person His glory for the purpose of giving it to others. John 17:22 in the New King James Bible says:  “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one:”

The best part of every person is the God part of us which is the glory of God in us. When you encourage others, you are giving the best part of you, which is God in you, to others.

The greatest gift you can ever give another person is a healthy you. Encouragement is the display of your health of Character and Competence.

Character – It shows your strength of Character when you can recognize in another person strengths that you can be grateful for. Unless we can see greatness in ourselves, we may never see another person’s greatness. We may in fact, judge another person’s greatness out of our own insecurity

Competence – If you are good at what you do, and have confidence; you can recognize another person who is good at what they do. Greatness recognizes greatness, competency recognizes competency, authenticity recognizes authenticity.

Find someone to encourage today. The people in your life need it!
