You shall know the truth and the truth will set you free, but before it sets you free, it will hack you off.

It is not the truth that sets us free, but the truth we know that sets us free. However, the truth will sometimes make you upset first. The thing that we get mad about the truth is what can keep us from benefitting from knowing the truth.

The truth is what is real and that is why it has the power to set us free. A lie is not real and it is the lies of life, that keep us in bondage.

Not long ago, I was listening to a talk radio show about blind date experiences. A guy called in about a girl who he had gone out with and had taken her to a very nice restaurant. As they were talking, she said, “Can I tell you something?” He said, “Sure.” She said, “I am not sure how to tell you this. You are a good looking guy, and I just want to encourage you to cut your nose hairs.”

He went on to tell the radio host that he quickly brought the date to an end because he was so offended. The female radio host then said, “I have one question for you: Did you go home and cut your nose hairs?” He said, “Yes.” She said, “You better go find that girl and marry her.”

Always allow what is real about the truth to override anything about the truth that makes you mad, so the truth you know can set you free.
